"We are Embrace. Art & Dance". New project!

20 February 2022

Today I present an exciting project with two artists who are passionate about ART, like me. Two dancers join with me their sensitivity, talent and passion to share with the world the emotion that gives meaning to our existence. We are Embrace. Art & Dance is the pure connection of the essence of the meaning of Art and Life, of what we are and what helps us to move forward. An international collaboration that is being presented today with its own website somosabrazo.com where you can find all the details of this new adventure. It also has its profile on Instagram @somosabrazo.art which also sees the light today.

Life offers us unexpected and wonderful encounters, connections that make us feel and grow by sharing who we are. Artists have a special look, we perceive what surrounds us in a unique way, what we feel we have to share it no matter how much effort it takes, no matter if it is a leap into the void, no matter if someone else is able to see it or feel it too. That is the essence of the artist... to create in order to share with the world the emotion that makes them vibrate . When the artist's gaze is discovered something changes in us, we connect with their message and we make that emotion our own, we also look differently.

When in the summer of 2020 I created the sculpture "We are embrace" I never thought that a project as unique and special as this one would be born from it. With this work I wanted to remember that in the worst moments of the covid-19 pandemic we needed to feel that universal embrace that unites us to each other as human beings, in that embrace we recognise consolation, pain, reunion and hope. A powerful and powerful work full of sensitivity that has united me to dance forever.

A proposal that came from the hand of the New York dancer Emily Chamberlin to create a performance with Peter James, a great Nigerian dancer with whom I already have other projects. The connection between us was instantaneous from the day we met. My sculptures made them dance immediately, Emily when she came to visit my exhibition at the Ateneo de Madrid in November 2019 and Peter when he visited my studio, after we met in another exhibition in February 2020. For me, to see them express the emotion in my works is truly overwhelming, they leave me speechless and the three of us look at each other with eyes moist with emotion. What a wonderful gift to have met each other!

When they saw the sculpture "We are embrace" they felt the need to share what this sculpture meant, they wanted to capture that emotion through the language that defines them: dance. Art in movement... Art & Dance. The two dancers connected deeply with the life that my works have and I have with them. Three artists united by our vocation and connected with the aim of sharing what makes us feel, carrying the essence of the human being as hope and strength to move forward. A friendship without borders that unites us to live and create together.

This project will require a great effort and we know it will be worth it. The official presentation will take place in Alcalá de Henares in April, a World Heritage City that has welcomed us with great enthusiasm and provides us with the locations we need to record the videos of this new challenge. We will present it in the U.S.A. through Emily and in Nigeria through Peter... This adventure has just begun and will reach unexpected corners.

We are Embrace. Art & Dance is an opportunity to get to know each other better and to give the best of ourselves. Art that is medicine for the soul and Dance that makes each step a new heartbeat. An adventure that will be transformed into an audiovisual montage, a theatrical event, and everything that means bringing this embrace and its emotion to those who need it. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if you want to sponsor the project.

I invite you to visit the website somosabrazo.comwhere you will also learn about the trajectory of these two great international artists and choreographers.

A hug!
