Today, the day after the inauguration of the sculpture "Somos abrazo" by Ana Hernando at the Puerta de Madrid in Alcalá de Henares, we want to share what it has meant for us. It is the first step for the presentation of this wonderful Art and Dance project.

It was a simple act, introduced by the music of a piece with the sound of the cello that reinforced the solemnity of this tribute to all those who died in this pandemic. The mayor's speech, close, generous and emotional with the memory of the hardest moments of uncertainty and pain, with the recognition of all those who gave everything in the most difficult moments and his words of hope after overcoming together the difficulties that covid19 has presented us with, made all those present feel reflected in his words. We are sincerely grateful for the trust of the City Council of Alcalá de Henares in believing in our joint project to express through this connection what this sculpture and other works by Ana make those who approach them feel.

Peter James was also present at the event, and in the afternoon Emily Chamberlin arrived in Madrid from New York, after working for a few days in France at an artists' residency to create, together with Peter and the sculptor herself, the choreography that will serve as the presentation of this project.

Today the three of us met for the first time together to advance this wonderful project that we will present at a press conference on 5 April, also in Alcalá de Henares, which is giving us several spaces to record a video that will keep this tribute alive.

Today has also been an intense day, assimilating so many emotions is not easy... To be able to meet physically and talk about all the ideas we have been sharing during these months, to see how each detail takes shape, how it grows, is something incredible and marvellous.

Truly, we thank you for being there giving value to what art means to us, it is what gives meaning to who we are.
